Director and producer Peter Sehr overlooks together with Anne Christine Knoth as coordinator the Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris on the German side. Marc Nicolas, Director of La fémis,  and Christine Ghazarian are the heads of Atelier in France.

The Atelier was launched by Prof. Dr. Peter Sehr and Prof. Jan Schütte in 2001. Jan Schütte left the program in 2011.
